About Me

Hi and welcome to my blog!

My name is Alexandrin Doucet and this is Le Rat des Villes. I am an aspiring behavioral psychologist and I’m a completely enthralled at how human society as a whole make use of mice. The humble mouse is an unassuming creature. It goes about its day, doing the very best that it can to survive. What is truly interesting about it is that it adapts and changes its behavior depending on how it can obtain its food.

Wholly different from the more highly aggressive and feral nature of rats, mice are generally smaller, manageable, and highly teachable. This is why mice are completely amenable to be the subjects of behavioral experiments. Depending on how they are treated and excluding any wild external factors, they are the best subjects that exhibit a clear learning capacity. It is interesting to also note that medicinal science also favors mice as the subjects of testing.

As you may surmise, this blog will be wholly dedicated to mice and the many different experiments that are usually done in the name of science. I believe that there is so much that we can learn from observing mice and finding out more what can be done toward ethical treatment of mice in our pursuit for knowledge.

In my journey to obtaining more knowledge for my craft, I have found out that there is pretty much no maze that a human can build that a mouse will not eventually figure out. These surprising creatures will continue to provide us with information and developments that will provide us with ways to improve ourselves.

If there is anything in particular that you would like for me to discuss, do let me know. I believe that input from you can help to further improve this site. Just send me a message at info@le-rat-des-villes.com.
